Academy History
Al-Shorouk Academy is an Egyptian private academy. It was established in 1995 AD and contains three institutes.
Higher Institute of Engineering
The Higher Institute of Engineering was established in 1995 by Ministerial Resolution issued by the Ministry of Higher Education No. 1712 dated 11/22/1995. The headquarters of the Institute was at that time (10th of Ramadan City) and the number of the Institute’s programs was five academic programs (Communications Engineering - Medical Engineering - Chemical Engineering - Electrical power and machinery engineering - architectural engineering).
The Higher Institute of Engineering moved to its new headquarters in the Nakheel suburb of Shorouk City at the beginning of the second semester of the 1999/2000 academic year after the Ministry of Higher Education approved the transfer by Ministerial Resolution No. 712 dated 5/31/2000.
The Institute's administration established the Civil Engineering Department by Ministerial Resolution No. 1437 dated 9/10/2000, and studies began in it as of the academic year 2000/2001, bringing the number of scientific departments in the Institute to (6) departments, in addition to the Department of Mathematics and Engineering Physics.
The institute’s administration developed the academic regulations for the various programs, and the chemical engineering program included a new division for petroleum manufacturing engineering, “Petrochemicals.” The regulations were approved by Ministerial Resolution (2381) on 7/4/2019, and it began work in the academic year 2019/2020.
Higher Institute of Computers and Information Technology
The establishment decision dated June 9, 2001 is divided into the following sections:
- Department of Computer Science
- Department of Management Information Systems
- Department of Accounting
All departments are accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and equivalent by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities (which allows granting the same rights and duties as Egyptian public universities, such as registration in unions and registration in postgraduate studies). The duration of study is 4 academic years in all departments to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Registration in the department in the first year.
The Computer Science Department is taught in English, the Management Information Systems Department is taught in English and Arabic, and the Accounting Department is taught in Arabic.
International Higher Institute of Media
The International Higher Institute for Media was established by Ministerial Resolution No. 1216 dated 6/9/2009 and includes the following departments:
- News production department
- Media production department

Media Marketing Department
The regulations were amended by Ministerial Resolution No. 966 dated 3/19/2018 and now include the following three sections:
- Journalism Department
- Radio and Television Department

Public Relations and Advertising Department
All departments are accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education

Tony Fred, Faculty Head of IT
Tony received a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and a Ph D. degree in 1998 and 2004. After a post-doctoral experience he joined the school as professor of mechatronics in 2006. In 2010, he became Head of IT.
Mich Stark, IT Officer
He is professor in the Institute of Mechanics, Materials and Civil Engineering since 2000. He lectures in mechanical drawing and mechanical design for undergraduate and graduate students. He is active in Problem and Project based learning. He is the promoter of 8 doctoral theses.
Aline Turner, Law professor
She has been practicing law at the French-speaking Brussels Bar since 2006. She has worked in various major law firms based in Brussels, as member and then head of their litigation/arbitration practice groups.
